Yes, One Log requires you to create an account and be logged in whenever you are using the app so that your data is kept safe and in sync across devices
We also use an account system so that your data is linked again to you if you for example delete the app and reinstall it
An account is automatically created for you when you login with your Apple ID if it doesn’t already exists. There is no specific registration procedure. You simply have to Login with Apple.
Because every account is tied to an Apple ID you can have multiple accounts using different Apple IDs. A single Apple ID cannot have multiple One Log accounts. Every One Log account is tightly linked to one single Apple ID
We only offer Sign In With Apple for security and privacy reasons. Sign in with Apple offers you maximum privacy and ease of use through Face/Touch ID as well as obscuring your real email address through private email relay. We strongly recommend you use this feature
Initially yes, however you can change the name that appears on your reports at any time by changing it in Account/Settings in the app’s side menu. We do not save the initial name you give us through Sign in with Apple anywhere
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled. If you want to renew with a different subscription go to Manage Subscriptions in app then to “Choose a different subscription”.
Go to Manage Subscriptions in app then to “Choose a different subscription”. Your chosen subscription will take effect once the old subscription ends if the newer subscription has a shorter period or it will take effect immediately if it has a longer duration. For example if you’re on a 3 months subscription and you change to a monthly subscription then the monthly subscription will only take effect once the 3 months subscription ends. If you instead choose a 6 months subscription then the 6 months subscription take effect immediately, including its discounts.

If you install the app on multiple devices, such as an iPhone and an iPad, your data will be automatically synchronised between devices without you having to do anything. You must be logged in with the same Apple ID on all these devices
Your data (including all entries and reports) is tied to your Apple ID and will be again available to you and resynchronised when you install the app again.
Your data sits in a secure remote database and is not deleted when you delete the app or change device (such as buying a new phone/tablet/computer).
Your data is only deleted when you delete your account
Your data is backed up every 6 hours, daily, weekly and monthly and we keep these backups for various amounts of time depending on the backup.
For example the monthly backups are kept for a year and we can restore those database snapshots at any time or just parts of them should there be any issue.
Every backup, as well as the live database, is encrypted.
Remote access to the database is secured and can only be done from whitelisted IP addresses. Network traffic from the app to the database server is end-to-end encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS). The data copied on your device is also encrypted.
The remote database is encrypted at rest.
We use MongoDB Atlas for storage which is SOC2 and HIPAA compliant. For more information visit the MongoDB Atlas Security webpage (external link)
Physically, all data is stored in London, United Kingdom
If you want to delete specific records such as an anaesthesia case, navigate to the item you want to delete in the items list and swipe left to reveal a “Delete” option.
For reports you can press the – (minus) icon next to the report you want to delete.
If you want to delete your account and all data associated with it then use the “Delete Account” button from the Account/Settings page in the side menu. Everything apart from the feedback you might have sent to us or your direct communication with us through channels such as email, will be permanently removed from our systems. For more information see the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions
Yes, using the reports system. Use a report for activities to list all your activities and export the resulting PDF. Similarly, use a report for anaesthesia cases and switch to the second tab, “Case List”. Export the Case List PDF. Make sure both reports have an appropriate date range to include all of your activities/cases.
We cannot offer a spreadsheet/CSV or other format type of export
The reports are “live” in the sense that they consist of a start date and end date. They are not stored in our database as a PDF.
To add a case/activity to an existing report simply add that case or activity in the appropriate section within the existing report’s date range and that item will be taken into account when generating the report.
If you already exported the report as a PDF without the item you wish to add then you would need to first add the item in the date range of the report and reexport it as PDF.
If the case/activity you want to add has a date that is not the date range of the report you should either modify the date of the item (if appropriate) or modify the date range of the report to include the date of the item
There is no limit to how many reports you can add. You can create reports for your particular needs – either personal to see a report on a particular date or a date range, or official reports that you need to send out to official bodies.
When you install the app and login for the first time the name defaults to your name associated with your Apple ID. This name might not reflect the name you would like to appear on the report. In the same way the medical grade will have a default value. The hospital is left blank.
Simply go to Account/Settings in the side menu and change those values.
One Log can at the moment only import cases from Med Gas Log.
To import your cases do the following:
One Log willl automatically start the import and let you know of the progress
Note that while we do our best to correctly import your cases some errors might occur, either because some cases aren’t entered correctly (see the following Q&As) or because Med Gas Log changed their export format and our app is unable to read the export file correctly. Should that be the case rest assured we’ll release an app update very soon to account for that.
The cases that weren’t imported were either malformed (bad data) or didn’t have any equivalent mapping to our data format. For example we don’t import Critical Care cases as Anaesthesia cases because we plan to have a fully featured dedicated ICM section in the near future.
When the importer encounters badly formatted data it will try its best to figure out what would be the appropriate One Log counterpart.
In some cases the resulting anaesthesia case is automatically “fixed” – for example in One Log you cannot have a Directly Supervised case with no Supervisor so when we encounter such a case we set the Supervisor to Consultant.
In other cases One Log doesn’t support some data in which case it will ignore it – for ex we don’t have “Custom 1”, “Custom 2” fields or any fields that have “No Value” except for Notes. In One Log everything must have a value. In all those cases One Log will append to the resulting case’s Notes some information about what has been changed and the values of the ignored fields, for your reference.
You should always go over through the imported cases and check if the data is correct
We plan to add a dedicated ICM cases and reporting section to the app in the near future that will be fully tailored to reflect ICM reporting and data entering needs.
We want Anaesthesia to be fully featured for Anaesthesia and ICM fully featured for ICM without having to retrofit Anaesthesia to cater for both
